About the hidden Gem of Belgium

A remarkable destination

One might be fooled into thinking that this once mighty medieval trading city is nothing more than an ancient and peaceful witness of palmy days long past, perfect for a quiet, historical city trip.

But under its skin, Ghent is a city of pioneers and artists, bubbling with a new energy. A fresh generation of young Gents is building a city ready for the future.

Hotspots

Ghent has a heart for culture, but is also the perfect city for a fascinating night out. Or discover the cuisine of tomorrow.

On the Leije river, just outside Ghent, stands the bright white, modern building housing the museum Dhondt- Dhaenens. The permanent collection boasts contemporary private pieces, with social relevance and the exhibitions change every six months.

Paard van Troje is a popular bookshop with more than 25,000 titles. Wonder for hours between all the books whilst enjoying a good cup of coffee.

We love Restaurant Roots, located in an old quarter in the historic centre. This bistro seats just 20 people and offers dinners in a relaxed and casual atmosphere.
